The Wolf and the Moon

Last night there was a beautiful serenity and deep energy in The Path Within Tarot class. I have been feeling the energy of the Wolf around lately and she is urging us to go deeper, to be wilder, to step into the unknown and out of our comfort zone. I even recall that one of my students Bec was wearing a t-shirt with a wolf howling at the Moon. In the Tarot card The Moon we see a Dog (our tame and civilised self) and a Wolf (our wild, instinctual self) howling at the moon as a path sits between them. This path leads through a gateway to initiation, to the unknown...is it time to be courageous and take the 'path less travelled'? In this week of the Waning Moon it is a beautiful time for reflection and stepping into the mystery. Perhaps for some, the Full Moon last week has already given you insights into a new pathway opening for you now and you are getting ready to sow the seeds of this new dream.

I love this video for Pearl's Dream by Bat for Lashes. Here is a wonderful depiction of the battle between our wild, mystical nature and our tame side that sometimes can become the cynical 'shadow' or inner critic due to the pain it feels from having to always play it safe and watch from the sidelines. Only letting yourself do 'what you should' or living only by other's expectations can create more pain and fear that actually taking that step onto the path that leads into the unknown. We all experience The Moon card of the Tarot differently and your Wolf nature may simply be urging you to look at the Moon and Stars outside tonight, or it might be urging you to really step outside of your comfort zone and plan a couple of days away just by yourself. Today my Wolf wants me to turn off the phone and computer and go 'beachcombing' just to see what I might find there today. Take a deep breath and listen...is there a Wolf howling in your chest? Listen closely, there is great wisdom in the call of this beautiful animal totem so linked to mystery, natural instincts and freedom.

Might watch this today too!

The Path Within 3-Day Tarot & Healing Course

For those of you who might find it difficult to travel to Williamstown for the night classes of The Path Within or can not commit to a 3 month course period, we have created The Path Within 3-Day Weekend Intensive to be held over the weekend of 14th-15th May and the following Saturday 21st May 2011. In these 3 days you will learn to read the ancient symbols of the Tarot as a healing tool for yourself and others, learn techniques to deepen your Intuition and communicate with the Higher Self and Reconnect to Nature.

The Path Within is a Healing Course, creating Sacred Harmony and Connection to Nature through the ancient symbols of the Tarot. I am most passionate about teaching others to 'be your own healer' and by imparting the Tarot Mysteries I hope that you discover the 'Oracle Within' yourself.  As a pathworker, I merely stand at the doorway to the Temple of Yourself - the magical world of Tarot embraces symbology, mythology, astrology, numerology and beauty in all it's guises.

This course is perfect for absolute beginners to Tarot and is also open to anyone who would like to build on their current Tarot skills in a warm and creative group. It is important to note that this course will not be used in replacement of professional counselling or therapy where needed. When we take The Path Within we are embracing responsibility for the creation of manifesting the lives we truly desire in a warm and well-grounded environment of like-minded souls.

Kate Bush: The Child with the Woman in Her Eyes

kate bush There is an old Jesuit quote: 'Give me a child until he is seven and I will give you the man...'

When ask what am I meant to be doing? I often ask them to remember what they loved to do as a child. When I was seven I spent hours pretending to teach and telling stories to my dolls, reading mythology, making herbal 'remedies' from the flowers and herbs in our garden and spinning around and around to music. There is great wisdom in the heart of the child and I often feel as adults it is part of our quest to regain this innocence and trust in letting the heart speak to us of the path we truly wish to take, especially in our vocation.

Today I felt inspired to look at photographs of the always enchanting, Kate Bush, and found these incredibly beautiful photos taken by her brother, John Carder Bush, when she was very young. Her path is right there in her eyes. These photos were published in a book called Cathy inspired by Kate's song Wuthering Heights in 1986 and will be published in hardback on 20th November 2014 by Little, Brown.

Can you remember how you loved to spend time as a child? Perhaps you have a photograph that can help you to find your way back, a little signpost...

Tree of Life by Mark Ryden

Here is a close up of the nature goddess in Mark Ryden's extraordinary painting, Tree of Life. A beautiful print of this work is available at Outre Gallery and sits in their front window of their Melbourne store. It calls to me every time I look at it. How many esoteric symbols can you see?

The LowBrow Tarot Deck

Here is an amazing illustration of re-imagining the mysteries of the Tarot in your own way. I love it when artists are inspired by the Tarot and we can experience new interpretations of these ancient mysteries. Recently curator and artist, Aunia Kahn at La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles created The LowBrow Tarot Project where she asked many leading artist of the LowBrow movement to interpret the 22 cards of the Major Arcana. Here is a peek at some of my favourites. Some of the original artworks are still for sale and you can put your name down for a copy of the deck and book when it is launched this year.

Sea Cave in Chile

Can anyone else feel the Neptunian energy getting ready to pour over us? If you have been feeling drawn to the sea, to wearing new colours and exploring your creativity...get ready, Neptune is coming. I will write more on the new astrological shifts soon but here is a photo (yes it is real) of a sea cave in Chile. In my dreams I live here...
