The Weekly Familiar - Koala

The Weekly Familiar - An animal message from Tony

KOALA: Koala is a marsupial that lives high up in the gumtrees and is native to only Australia. The koala teaches us about the importance of rest and sleep. It's medicine is of the Dreamer. It comes to us when we need to take time out of 'busyness' and relax. If the Koala has been making itself known to you through dreaming and meditation it may be because there has been too much worrying, which can make the mind race in circles and lead to exhaustion. Let the Koala show you how to step back from your worries and just BE. Not all problems can be solved through the mind, some of our greatest breatkthroughs in difficult situations come through our Dreaming. Koala would urge you to rest - can you make time for a nap today or even better, embrace in a long, deep period of sleep.
Be Wild!
Tony
These photographs were taken last year at the Southern Ash Wildlife Shelter in Victoria an incredible volunteer animal shelter run by Colleen Wood and her amazing team who work without any funding or assistance from the government. Colleen is the leading expert on koala care and welfare in Australia and she would be so grateful for any assistance and donations you can spare to help care for these beautiful animals that are unfortunately in so much danger due to expanding urban environments and man-created diseases. Did you know that you can sponsor one of these gorgeous creatures for just $40?! Colleen's aim is to help as many koalas come to full healing and be returned again to the wild. You can find out more about the work of Southern Ash at their website and on their Facebook page.

Listen to the Earth - She Knows When to Move

The forest is teaching us when to move, when to be still. Today I felt the call to go to the highest point of the mountain and as we reached it we watched a fast moving blanket of fog descend over the everything bringing the mist-veiled sculptured beings magically to life. Trust the Earth when She speaks to your Body - She is sharing Mystery Endlessly.

Roberto Kusterle - Curiouser and Curiouser

We are only now beginning to honour the potent power and mystery of our dreams as we did in ancient times.  When I first saw the photographs of Italian visual artist, Roberto Kusterle, they filled me with wonder - like magic lantern slides for a modern time.  What faerietales are remembered by your soul as your eyes drink in these otherwordly dreamscapes depicting human encounters with otherworldly and yet natural beings?
Roberto's website bio gives this brief and fascinating description:

Roberto Kusterle was born in Gorizia. At the end of the 80's, his interest in photography begins, focusing in a research of the human representation in connection with nature around it. The images of the themes tackled tell us about a unique time where separations between dreams, reality, Men and animal melt down and uprise into a form of tight cohabitation thus transforming vital energy into ethic tension.

Autumn Equinox Workshop and Ceremony

Autumn Equinox Workshop and Ceremony:

The Swan Blessing + Walking With the Dreamer

1-4pm Sunday, 24th March
Tree of Life, 3 Denmark Street, Kew
Cost: $75   (pre-booking is essential as places are strictly limited)

The Autumn Equinox is the point of equal balance between light and darkness

and at this auspicious weekend on Sunday 24th March we will be holding ceremony in the stunning water gardens at Tree of Life healing centre in Kew. We will also be holding a workshop: The Swan Blessing - understanding the bindings of Past Life Vows, followed by a shamanic ritual and drum journey Walking With the Dreamer with the intention of reclaiming our own personal ancestral dreaming and wisdom.  This will be the first of a series of workshops and personal shamanic healing to be held at the beautiful Tree of Life centre at 3 Denmark Street, Kew. An enormous thank you to our dear friend, Dr. John Hare for this invitation. We look forward to working in the magic of this divine healing space.

As the Autumn Equinox nears you may be coming into a stronger awareness of what is out of balance - what needs to fall away or be embraced to bring symbiosis and flow between your own darkness and light. What is calling to be illuminated? If you feel called we would love to see you at the Autumn Equinox ceremony - looking forward to this Autumnal Dreaming.

Full Moon Dreaming with The Wild Unknown

This dreamy Tarot deck is The Wild Unknown, created by an independent and family-run business specialising in hand-made treasures. The artwork is by Kim Krans a visual artist and musician who with her husband Jonny Ollsin create music with The Family Band. I love the breadth of their creativity together, the sharing of art and music and even the building of their own cabin together.

I bought this deck as a gift to myself late last year as we prepared to enter our wild unknown and move to the forest. And have just begun to read with this deck for others in the Water Serpentina Water Snake shamanic balance and readings. I particularly love the animals depicting the essence of each element: Owls for Swords (Air/Mind), Swans (!!) for Cups (Water/Emotions), Snakes for Wands (Fire/Intuition) and Deer for Pentacles (Earth/Body).  This deck has sold out again but there will be a new release on 1st March.

Whatever you are doing on this Full Moon in Virgo night I hope that it brings you clarity, invites beauty and gives you trust in the Mystery - The Wild Unknown.
