I'm writing about Jimi Hendrix today for the Autumn Equinox newsletter. His album Valleys of Neptune was only released last year - 40 years after he created it and it is so ahead of its time and so very in touch with where we are right now. Keep rising Jimi!

Autumn Equinox Meditation & Intuition Circle

Hello Everyone,

at the auspicious time of the Autumn Equinox on Wednesday 23rd March we are opening up a new Meditation and Intuition Development Circle. The Autumn Equinox is a beautiful balancing point in the light and dark of the year and is a particularly potent time for creating change in our lives with the Sun in the sign of Aries. 

I love these circles, not only do we get to relax deeply but we also discover ways to communicate with our personal guides & spirit helpers. Each week we learn new skills to deepen our intuition as well as practicing healing techniques. Through guided meditation we take sacred journeys, path-working with Goddesses & Gods, Animal Totems, Family Ancestors & Ascended Masters. In each class Tony & I give personal readings to every member of the group to assist them on their journey.

Rising from the Deep...

I hope many of you gained new intuitive insights and flashes of bright clarity from the New Moon in Pisces. When we can honour our emotions and stay on the journey into the deep, we conquer or even merely come to terms with our fears and this immediately give us new strength and purpose to make the changes that we need in our lives. This is the gold waiting for us at the end of our quest. Stepping out of the Dark Moon and into the light of the new day I imagine we would be wearing our new wisdom like a cloak of raven feathers - perhaps a gift from An Cailleach the wise divine crone goddess and creatrix of Scottish and Irish mythology who is particularly potent to meditate with at the Dark Moon. In some tales, An Cailleach is born old and grows younger with every year. Are you ready to step into the gold that awaits us when we rise up from the Deep? Ready to grow young again?

I love these photos of Ursula Andress from the Hammer horror film, 'She', made in the sixties. In ancient Egypt the colour Black symbolised: Death, Night, Rebirth and Gold represented The Sun, Eternal Life and the quality of being Imperishable.

New Moon in Pisces

Today we are swimming in the deep blue waters of a New Moon in Pisces, Sun in Pisces and Chiron in Pisces. This New Moon feels emotional and may have a pull from Chiron to 'retreat to the cave'. Help your emotions to flow by engaging in a new artform instead of trying to escape these deep emotions and reaching for the alcohol or chocolate (the shadow path of the Piscean). Pisces teaches us to feel deeply and honour our emotions and then to channel this into beauty, creativity and love. 

I have just discovered Encaustic Art as a fantastic tool for channeling emotions and I think it would be particularly potent for exploring wild and overwhelming feelings. Encaustic Art is a 2000 year old art form used by the ancient Greeks, Egyptians and Romans. Encaustic literally means 'burnt in'. It utilises beeswax mixed with pigments and resins as a painting medium. This medium is painted with a hot iron or stylus or brush. 

These are some of the pieces I created last week and I'm really enjoying the wild, messy freedom of working with this medium. The colours are vivid and you have to give up control completely as the beeswax flows and drips across the page following it's own flow. Perfect! The myriad of images it creates within the patterns of beeswax are fascinating and perfect for divining and 'looking into'. I can see so many little stories here - what can you see? If you are 'rolling in the deep' today, this is for you.

Sekhmet the Egyptian Lion-Headed Goddess

Today the Sun is conjunct with Sekhmet. The ancient lion-headed goddess of Egypt is a warrior protector goddess whose name means "The Powerful One'. In the Tarot we see the combination of the Lion and the Goddess in the Major Arcana card of Strength. Often this card will ask us to look at challenges and difficult situations from the position of the 'Higher' or 'Greater Self'. It often urges us to see the wisdom in difficult events and to try a new more mature and graceful approach of handling ourselves and others. And sometimes the Lion and the Goddess  are telling you it is time to stand up for what you believe in, is time for you to ROAR? Quite often when we draw this card we are being asked to look at ourselves as the Beast and the Maiden and find a healthy balance between both natures. Today I will use the energy of Sekhmet and Strength to be patient and to give me the powerful energy I need to deal with an illness in the family. There is nothing stronger than Love.
