Encaustic Workshops - Melbourne and Queensland

Here are the new dates for the latest encaustic workshops - I'm so happy to be able to bring this beautiful intuitive medium to our Queensland readers and clients! The Queensland workshops will be held on mystical Mount Tamborine - I can't wait to see the paintings that emerge in that lush rainforest.

When the Dream is Real

Fingal's Cave on Staffa Island, Hebrides

Yesterday I awoke early and instead of getting up began to meditate and fell back into a state of half-dreaming that I find to be very potent for receiving messages, symbols and visions. In this dream/vision I found myself at the most beautiful cove protected by huge volcanic towering columns of stone. It was full moon and the sea was flowing in, around the shore were skulls on staffs. When I woke up I knew that I had seen those cliffs before and remembered a trip to the spiritual island of Iona in Scotland. From Iona you can see an island in the distance. I knew instantly this island known as Staffa was the home of the cove that had appeared in my dream.

In the mouth of the cave looking out to the Isle of Iona

Staffa was named from the Old Norse for staff or staves, a pillar island whose volcanic basalt columns reminded the Vikings of log staffs. As I began to look at images of Staffa i was drawn to photographs of the island's main sea cave, Fingal's Cave as they captured the energy or essence of the dream. The dream's message was about recognising the beauty and majesty of the natural world in comparison to our addiction to being indoors or looking for 'magic' in man-made tools or items. The original gaelic name for Fingal's Cave is An Uamh Bhin - 'the melodious cave'. In 1832, composer Felix Mendelssohn was so inspired by the sound of the waves in the cathedral-like cave that he wrote Hebrides Overture opus.

I am still working with the message of this powerful dream, a vision sent to me by my Scottish ancestors - no doubt symbolised by the skulls, the bones of my ancestors on the staffs (Staffa - hinting at the name so that I could find it quickly) on the shore. Make time for your dreams, they are very special, potent and helpful.

May your dreams tonight lead to you to the wild places of own heart and blood.

The Weekly Familiar - Koala

The Weekly Familiar - an Animal Message from Tony

This week's Familiar is KOALA.

Koala: The koala has come in this week with it's message about relaxation. Koala is one of my totems and has taught me about the importance of relaxing and just taking it easy. This message is reminding us to set aside time to do nothing and let the world go by for a change. The koala helps us to de-stress as stress can often be a major cause of illness. How much time are you giving to stressing about the tiny details of your day? Is your mind racing constantly? Are you taking time for yourself? What is it that relaxes you the most and can you make time to do this more? The irony is we are more productive when we are relaxed. So make time to embrace the energy of the koala today and let go, relax and be. The Koala.

The Weekly Familiar - Elephant

The Weekly Familiar - an Animal Message from Tony

This week's Familiar is ELEPHANT.

Elephant: An elephant came to me this week with it's message about support. Each elephant has it's role in the tribe but will give support to anyone who needs it. They all come together to protect and help each other especially their young. This message is asking you to look at the support around you and the support you give to others. Support to partners, family or friends. Support is about giving and receiving, equality in relationships. There is no one role greater or more important than any other, we can all help each other to simply be. The Elephant.

Welcoming the Dark Sister - Embracing Black Moon Lilith

The first of the Black Moon Lilith Illumination workshops has already filled within a week, showing me just how necessary and needed this beautiful shadow work is for us at the moment. For those of you who missed out on a place, I will be holding the next workshop on the Dark Moon in Gemini on Monday, 18th June. Please contact me with your birth details if you feel called to explore this illuminating work.

At this time of the rise of the Divine Feminine we are asked to illuminate the shadow aspects of lives to bring these 'orphaned' or 'outcast' aspects of ourselves into the luminous circle. Once embraced and loved they begin to become powerful traits and treasured gifts.

In this small and personal workshop held on the Dark Moon in Gemini a time when we can receive messages from our 'twin' or 'other' self, we will discover through Astrology where our Black Moon Lilith  resides in our Natal Chart. Through the ancient symbols of the Tarot we will find a language to help us to delve into the Deep, the Unknown to recover, honour and welcome every part of ourselves. It is time to reclaim the wise woman, the shamaness, the wild creatures. It is time to express our True Nature.

8 places available: please contact Julia with your birth details.

The Weekly Familiar - Ant

The Weekly Familiar - an Animal Message from Tony

This week's Familiar is ANT.

Ant: An ant came to me this morning with it's message about carrying burdens. The ant knows it's limits. We humans tend to try and carry too many things at once whereas the ant will carry only what it needs and no more. Why do we carry too much? Perhaps it is a good time to let go of some of our burdens. Once we let go we feel lighter, our posture straightens and we have more mobility. Are your burdens as important as you think? Time to reassess, let go and only carry what you need.

Honouring the Super Moon & Radiant Sun

This morning I felt called to check in with the birds at this time of such a huge Full Moon. Williamstown is a sanctuary for seabirds but I've never seen as many gathered together as I saw at dawn this morning. I love looking at the city from this side of the world - hello Melbourne!

On Friday on our walk I was being mindful to follow my hearing. I could hear a tree rustling and walked over to this tree. As I stepped closer I Tony pointed out that there was a flower inside the hollow - it was in fact 2 pink roses, side by side. I love the secret stories and mysteries revealed. Where is the love? Everywhere x
